The wind turned blustery some time overnight. Causing restless sleep. The alarm clock made its feeble attempt to wake me. I turned it off and figured I'd wait for the kids to wake. When I did crawl out of bed, the wind was still blustery. I looked at the alarm to find it blank. We had no power. The kids... gotta love kids and the younger ones' inability to understand the "no electricity" thing.
The oldest one... "Mom... my bedroom light doesn't work!"
The youngest one... "Mom... I wanna watch boy show!"
The middle two... "Mom... I want to watch TV!"
My reply... "The light won't work for the same reason all the lights in the house don't work. For the same reason the stove and oven don't work. For the same reason the TV won't work. For the same reason the dishwasher, washer, and dryer won't work. Something happened that we have no electricity. Have some patience, it'll be on soon."
Fortunately the outage lasted only a few hours. We didn't have to worry about days and weeks without power as people in some areas do.
But the lack of power for breakfast meant nothing hot to eat on a chilly morning.
But the sun was bright and promising. Hopefully it chases the clouds away.
On the quilting front. I'm still hand quilting. I'm also planning some other projects and I wrote another pattern. I need to check that before it gets posted, and I need to take a good picture.
