I have long looked at Cathedral Windows and thought how beautiful they were. They looked extremely difficult to make so I've been reluctant to attemt them. The folding, sewing, and more folding, were mysteries to me.
In January, during our "Girls Day Out", I bought this book on how to do Cathedral Windows.
The book includes beautiful pictures and variations and lots of great how-to information. There are a few projects in it, too. I spent time reading, and looking, and reading some more. I can be so reluctant to try something new... No idea what's wrong with me sometimes, because new stuff is wonderful!!
I got some fabric from the stash and made an attempt. It doesn't photograph well, because it's some left-over, extremely vibrant orange from something my older daughter made (She likes those kinds of colors). So there is no photo of that. It looks awful anyway. Points are off. It's bumpily. So, here's my second attempt. (Don't look too closely... it's tons better than the first, but I still need to work at it.)
But, I'm thinking I need lots of white (because it is fabric greedy), and maybe some of this stash of mine, could go into a Cathedral Windows quilt. Add another one to the list...
